The Company
Elta Fans Building Services, part of the £100 million plus turnover Elta Group, sell a range of fans, air handling units, grilles, louvres and
diffusers to contractors, distributors and other specialists serving the UK Building Services market.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the Technical Sales Manager is to deliver profitable sales growth through the implementation of Elta Fans
Building Services’ sales strategy.
 
Essential Skills & Experience
Track record The successful candidate must have a demonstrable, outstandingly good, track record in profitable sales growth of
ventilation or ventilation related products within the UK Building Services market.
 
Presentation skills The successful candidate will have demonstrable, outstandingly good technical product and proposals
presentations skills.
 
Communication The successful candidate will have outstandingly good communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be able
to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and fellow employees at all levels.
 
Attitude The successful candidate will be a driven individual, capable of working effectively on their own and as part of a team, with a
“can do” positive attitude who will represent Elta Fans Building Services in an ambassadorial way at all times.
 
Commercial and sales expertise The successful candidate will have strong commercial and sales skills and will fully understand the
sales cycle from concept design to securing the order. The successful candidate will understand the commercial concept of profitable
negotiation, be good at it and ensure that the needs of the customer and the company are understood and met, resulting in a win/win
for both parties. There will be a need to occasionally agree and manage complex trading terms.
 
Technical The successful candidate will have very strong technical skills and be able to present technical solutions to meet customer
requirements.
 
Time management The successful candidate will be capable of maximising and making the most efficient use of their time and that of
others they work with.
 
IT In order to function fully and efficiently in this role the successful candidate must be able to use all necessary IT packages for
reporting, presentations, preparation of client information and in house data collection.
 
Results driven The candidate must be able to measure their own performance and must take full responsibility for their performance.
 
Measures of performance
  • To achieve a level of profitable sales growth, at acceptable margins, in line with the company’s reasonable expectations.
  • To manage business expenditure and keep within the company’s reasonable budget limitations.
  • To manage a reporting system in a timely fashion in line with the requirements of the business
 
Qualiifications 
  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Building Engineering or other construction related discipline is preferred; or a minimum of seven years of related experience or training in the construction products sector; or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • Formal sales training courses.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of CRM and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
